Leake County, Mississippi – Authorities have confirmed that Dylan Arrington, one of four inmates who escaped from the Raymond Detention Center near Jackson on Saturday night, has been killed in a shootout with police Wednesday morning.
At around 7:10 a.m., Arrington shot from within his location in the home, striking an investigator. The Leake County Sheriff’s Office had warned the community to beware of potential trespassers on and around their properties and shared an image of Arrington to Facebook.
Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said Arrington was involved in a shootout with police at a Leake County home that also caught fire during the gun battle. Arrington had been suspected in the slaying of a pastor while on the lam.
The Raymond Detention Center is managed by the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department. The other three inmates who escaped with Arrington, Casey Grayson, Corey Harrison, and Jerry Raynes, are still at large.
