On Saturday night, a fire broke out at California’s Disneyland during the popular “Fantasmic!” show, when a large animatronic dragon became fully engulfed in flames. Anaheim Fire and Rescue personnel were dispatched to the scene at around 11 p.m. to assist the Disneyland Fire Department with putting out the fire on Tom Sawyer Island.

Disneyland cast members quickly evacuated the area and the fire was extinguished, according to Anaheim Police Sergeant John McClintock. Video circulating on social media shows the giant Disneyland prop on fire while park attendees watched. Park employees evacuated about 1,000 people from the surrounding area while a water feature was turned on to douse the blaze.

The 45-foot animatronic dragon quickly engulfed in flames during a performance with Mickey Mouse. No guests or visitors were injured in the incident, and the fire was quickly extinguished.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but it is believed to have been caused by a pyrotechnic act gone wrong. Disneyland officials have not yet released a statement regarding the incident.
