Former Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg Released from Rikers Island After Serving Two-Thirds of His Five-Month Sentence for Tax Fraud and Other Crimes.

Allen Weisselberg, the former Trump Organization chief financial officer, was released from New York City’s Rikers Island jail on Wednesday after serving more than two-thirds of his five-month sentence for tax fraud and other crimes.

Weisselberg had been in jail since January 10th, when he was sentenced for his role in the corporation’s 15-year tax fraud scheme. Weisselberg had worked for the Trump Organization for nearly half a century, and was the company’s right-hand man before and after Trump left to serve in the White House.

In December 2022, two Trump Organization companies were found guilty of 17 counts related to tax fraud and other charges. Weisselberg and other executives had received bonuses and perks in ways that cheated tax authorities and saved the company money.

Weisselberg’s release from jail comes after he appeared as the star witness for prosecutors in the corporation’s tax fraud trial. His testimony was instrumental in the conviction of the two Trump Organization companies.

The former Trump Organization chief financial officer’s release from jail marks the end of his sentence for his role in the tax fraud scheme. It remains to be seen what the future holds for Weisselberg and the Trump Organization.
