On Friday night, tragedy struck in Honolulu, Hawaii, when a physical altercation at a cockfight escalated to a shooting. According to Honolulu Police Department Lt. Deena Thoemmes, a group of males began arguing which then led to a physical altercation. During the altercation, gunshots were fired, hitting five people in the immediate area.

Two of the victims, a 59-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man, were pronounced dead after arriving at a hospital. The other three victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Honolulu police responded to a call about shots fired just past midnight Friday and are currently searching for a suspect believed to be in his 20s who allegedly shot the others who were attending the event.

This incident is still under investigation and the Honolulu Police Department is working to identify the suspect and bring justice to the victims and their families.
