Five people were killed and several more were wounded, including a police officer, in a deadly rampage at a Louisville bank on Monday morning. The gunman, 25-year-old Connor Sturgeon, had worked at the bank for three summers as an intern before becoming a full-time employee in 2021.

According to a city official, the attack was livestreamed on Instagram and footage showed the gunman entering the bank with an AR-15-style weapon. A worker inside the bank said good morning to the gunman before the shooting began.

The rampage lasted only one minute before the gunman stopped shooting and waited for police to arrive. Police exchanged gunfire with the shooter and killed him at the scene.

The motive for the attack is still unclear, but investigators are combing through the footage to try to understand what led up to the mass shooting.

The Louisville Metro Police Department is asking anyone with information about the attack to contact them.
