The New York Police Department (NYPD) said officers were dispatched to a 911 call from an apartment in the Chelsea neighborhood at 11:14 a.m. After a preliminary investigation, police verified the woman’s claims that she had been assaulted by Majors, 33.
The woman was transported to a hospital with minor head and neck injuries, according to police. Majors was taken into custody on suspicion of strangulation, assault and harassment.
The “Creed III” star was arrested based on allegations of domestic violence. The woman, who was identified only as a 30-year-old, told officers she had been assaulted by Majors.
Majors’ representative has not yet commented on the incident. The NYPD is continuing to investigate the matter.
