Four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers announced Wednesday that he intends to play for the New York Jets in 2023. The 39-year-old quarterback has spent his entire 18-year professional career with the Green Bay Packers.

During a regular appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” Wednesday, Rodgers said he believes the Packers want to move on and make 2020 first-round pick Jordan Love their starting quarterback. However, Rodgers said “decision day” has yet to arrive.

“I think since Friday, I made it clear that my intention was to play and my intention was to play for the New York Jets,” he added. “So much love and gratitude and just heart open for Packers fans and what it meant to be their quarterback.”

Rodgers won Super Bowl XLV in 2011 and has been a four-time league MVP. He expressed his appreciation for the Packers organization and the fans.

“[From] my side – love, appreciation and gratitude for everything that Green Bay has done for me,” Rodgers said.

The future of Rodgers’ career remains uncertain, but he has made it clear that he intends to play for the New York Jets in 2023. It is yet to be seen if the Packers will honor his wishes and make a trade.
