A 13-year-old girl reported missing in Dallas, Texas was found safe in an outbuilding in Lexington, North Carolina more than 1,000 miles away after being enticed away from home by an adult man she met on a social media platform.
The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that the FBI, working with Dallas police, determined the man had been chatting with the girl online and the content of the chat was consistent with grooming and enticement.
At a news conference, Davidson County Sheriff Richie Simmons said the man enticed the girl to leave her home. The man, 34-year-old Jorge Ivan Santos Camacho, was arrested on child abduction, felonious restraint, statutory rape and other charges.
The girl was found in Davidson County, which is south of Winston-Salem, on Friday night. She was unharmed and has since been reunited with her family.
