Stephanie Hsu to Perform Academy Award-Nominated Song “This Is a Life” at Upcoming Academy Awards Show

Actor Stephanie Hsu is set to perform the Academy Award-nominated song “This Is a Life,” from A24’s hit film “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” at the upcoming Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awards show. Hsu, who was nominated for best performance by an actress in a supporting role for the film, will take the stage on March 12 in place of the song’s original singer, Mitski.

The song, written by Byrne and Son Lux frontman Ryan Lott, is nominated for best original song. Hsu will perform alongside the music trio Son Lux and the award-winning singer, songwriter and Talking Heads lead singer David Byrne. Son Lux was also nominated for best original score for the film.

A24, the production house behind the hit film, recently held an auction of 43 pieces of memorabilia from the movie. Among the standout lots were a pair of “hot dog hands,” a Bluetooth headset for crossing between universes and a rock decorated with googly eyes known as “Rockverse Rock.”

The surreal genre-defying movie has earned 11 Oscar nominations and is expected to be a major contender at this month’s awards show. Stephanie Hsu’s performance of “This Is a Life” is sure to be a highlight of the evening.
