Tragic Accident in Frederick, Maryland Kills Truck Driver and Spreads to Three Homes and Multiple Vehicles

A tragic accident occurred on Saturday in Frederick, Maryland, when a tanker truck carrying a flammable liquid overturned and caught fire. The driver of the truck was killed in the crash, while the fire also spread to three homes and multiple vehicles.

According to Frederick Fire Chief Tom Coe, emergency crews were on the scene within minutes of receiving multiple calls about the incident. The truck was completely engulfed in flames when they arrived, and the fire had spread to three homes and several vehicles. The driver of the truck was killed in the crash, but no other injuries were reported.

The crash occurred around noon on U.S. 15, about an hour’s drive west of Baltimore. The truck hit a tree and exploded, according to the Frederick News-Post. The roadway was shut down in both directions for an “extended closure”, according to the State Highway Administration.
