President Joe Biden has declined a request from Fox News for a pre-Super Bowl interview on Sunday, continuing the Democratic president’s icy relationship with the right-wing channel.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Friday that aides for Biden had instead been working toward an interview with Fox Soul, a small streaming platform aimed at Black Americans.

“The President was looking forward to an interview with Fox Soul to discuss the Super Bowl, the State of the Union, and critical issues impacting the everyday lives of Black Americans,” Jean-Pierre said in a statement.

However, Fox has canceled the interview, Jean-Pierre said in a tweet Friday.

“We’ve been informed that Fox Corp has asked for the interview to be cancelled,” she said.

The annual presidential Super Bowl interview is usually taped on the Friday before the game, but Biden is not expected to participate this year.

The decision to decline the Fox News interview is the latest in a series of snubs by the Biden administration. Biden has yet to appear on any of the network’s shows or sit down with its hosts and anchors.
