A lucky ticket holder in Washington state has won the fifth-largest Powerball jackpot in history, officials said Monday.
The winning ticket matched all six numbers in the Powerball drawing on Monday, winning a jackpot worth $754.6 million. The Power Play multiplier was 2X.
The win ends a Powerball jackpot run that has been ongoing since November 19, 2022, with no one claiming the top prize in the 34 drawings since then.
More than 2 million tickets won cash prizes totaling $20 million in the Saturday drawing, Powerball said. The ticket holder will be able to claim the game’s fifth-largest prize ever and ninth-largest in U.S. lottery history.
Four tickets matched five of the numbers, winning $1 million each for tickets sold in Florida, New Jersey, Oregon and Pennsylvania. Additionally, 64 winning tickets worth $50,000 and 17 winning tickets worth $100,000 were sold.
The Powerball jackpot has been growing steadily since November, with the final ticket sales bringing the jackpot beyond its earlier estimate to its latest total at the time of drawing. This makes it the fifth-largest Powerball jackpot and the ninth-largest U.S. lottery jackpot ever won.
The winner of the jackpot has yet to be identified, but officials said the ticket holder will have the option to take the lump sum or an annuity of 30 payments over 29 years.
