Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux announced the arrest of two suspects in the massacre of six people last month in central California. Noah David Beard, 25, was taken into custody without incident, while Angel “Nanu” Uriarte, 35, was wounded in a shootout with federal agents and was undergoing surgery.

At a news conference at the sheriff’s headquarters in Visalia, Boudreaux said the suspects and members of the victims’ family have a long history of gang violence, but the motive for the shooting “is not exactly clear.” Uriarte was in stable condition and expected to survive.

“I’m happy we were able to put these two men behind bars,” Boudreaux said. He added that the arrests were the result of a collaborative effort between the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, the California Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the U.S. Marshals Service.

The investigation into the massacre is ongoing. Boudreaux said that the sheriff’s office will continue to work with the other agencies to bring justice to the victims and their families. He also urged anyone with information about the case to contact the sheriff’s office.
