Hunter Biden Launches Aggressive Strategy to Combat Federal Criminal Investigations and GOP Probes

Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, has launched an aggressive new strategy to combat long-running federal criminal investigations and new probes promised by congressional Republicans. On Wednesday, Biden’s legal team sent letters to the Delaware attorney general, the Department of Justice, the I.R.S. and attorneys for Fox News and Tucker Carlson, demanding state and federal investigations into the dissemination of material from his laptop.

The letter to the Justice Department’s National Security Division asked for an investigation into individuals who may have violated federal laws in accessing, copying, manipulating, and/or disseminating Biden’s personal computer data, including Rudy Giuliani, who was Trump’s lawyer at the time. The letter to the Delaware attorney general’s office requested a probe into the same people for allegedly violating “various Delaware laws” in accessing Biden’s information from what Trump has called “the laptop from hell.”

The move marks a dramatic shift in strategy for the president’s son after years of GOP attacks. Biden’s legal team is also threatening a defamation lawsuit against Fox News’ Tucker Carlson for allegedly failing to correct false statements.

The Biden legal team’s letters come as the president’s son faces multiple federal criminal investigations, as well as new probes promised by congressional Republicans. It remains to be seen how the federal and state investigations will play out, but Biden’s legal team is clearly taking a proactive approach to defending their client.
