Two Individuals Who Found Classified Documents in Florida Storage Facility Testify Before Federal Grand Jury in Washington

Two people who found two classified documents in a Florida storage facility for former President Donald Trump have testified before a federal grand jury in Washington, according to sources familiar with the investigation. The grand jury is looking into Trump’s handling of national security records at his Mar-a-Lago residence.

The news comes as Rep. Jim Jordan and Chuck Todd got into a heated debate on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday. Todd called out the Ohio Republican for painting a misleading picture of how Trump and President Joe Biden handled the discovery of classified documents at their respective homes. Jordan repeatedly insisted that the Department of Justice had been “weaponized” against Trump, citing the FBI’s Aug. 8 raid of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

The FBI had hired a team to search Trump’s Bedminster golf club, Trump Tower in New York, an office location in Florida and a storage unit in Florida last October. During the search, scores of sensitive documents were retrieved. It followed months of requests for the papers to be returned.

The extent of information the two individuals offered the grand jury remains unclear. However, it is known that the search of the storage unit was part of the investigation into Trump’s handling of national security records.
