Bodycam Footage of Attack on Paul Pelosi and Arrest of David DePape Released by San Francisco Police Department

San Francisco Police have released bodycam footage of the assault on Paul Pelosi, husband of Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, and the arrest of his attacker David DePape. The video was released following a court order from San Francisco Superior Court Judge Stephen M. Murphy.

The incident occurred when DePape broke into the Pelosi home and Paul Pelosi called the police. The bodycam footage shows DePape slamming a hammer down on to Pelosi’s head, though Pelosi is sightly out of the picture at that point.

When asked about the video, Congresswoman Pelosi said she has “no intention” of seeing the assault on her husband. She added that she is grateful for the quick response of the police and the court’s decision to release the video.

The San Francisco Police Department has stated that DePape has been charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse, and burglary. He is currently being held in custody and is awaiting trial.

The Pelosi family has expressed their gratitude for the support they have received from the public and the police. They have asked for privacy as they continue to process the events of the attack.
