Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin is making remarkable progress in his recovery from cardiac arrest, but still faces a lengthy rehabilitation, according to his marketing representative.

Jordon Rooney, Hamlin’s representative, told The Associated Press on Thursday night that Hamlin still requires oxygen and is having his heart monitored regularly to ensure there are no setbacks or after effects. Rooney also said that Hamlin is able to visit the team’s facility, but requires additional rest to help his body heal.

In a statement obtained by ESPN, Hamlin’s longtime friend and business partner, Jordon Rooney said: “Despite being out of the hospital, Damar still has a lengthy recovery.”

The statement comes just one day after Bills head coach Sean McDermott told reporters that Hamlin has been at the team facility almost daily, CNN previously reported.

Hamlin went into cardiac arrest during a football game more than two weeks ago. Since then, he has been making steady progress in his recovery and is expected to make a full recovery. However, it is clear that he still has a long road ahead of him.
