Police have arrested Levon Semaj Longstreet, a 17-year-old charged with second-degree murder and second-degree assault in connection with a fatal shooting at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota on December 23.
At a news conference Tuesday, Bloomington Police Chief Booker Hodges said Longstreet was arrested in Decatur, Georgia by U.S. Marshals. Taeshawn Adams-Wright, 18, has also been charged with second-degree murder with intent and second-degree assault.
The shooting broke out during an altercation between five to nine people inside a Nordstrom at the mall, police have said. Longstreet was arrested after a two-week search.
Hodges also said a 17-year-old boy and his mother were taken into custody Tuesday in connection with the shooting. The mother, identified as Lavon McMillian, is accused of driving Longstreet from Minnesota to Georgia immediately following the shooting and is being held on charges of aiding and abetting.
The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released as it becomes available.
