A Massachusetts man was arraigned Wednesday on a charge of murder in the death of his wife, Ana Walshe, who disappeared around New Year’s Day. Prosecutors presented evidence in Quincy District Court that Brian Walshe, 47, had made more than a dozen disturbing Google searches in the minutes before he had originally told police he last saw his wife.
The searches included “10 ways to dispose of a dead body if you really need to” and “how to stop a body from decomposing.” Brian Walshe is also charged with assaulting and beating his wife with the intent to murder her, as well as moving her body or remains.
In response to the evidence presented by prosecutors, Brian Walshe’s defense attorney Tracy Miner released a statement Wednesday saying that in her experience, when the prosecution leaks evidence to the press before providing it to her, their case is not strong. Miner also said she has not been given any evidence yet and will not try the case in the media.
Ana Walshe, 39, was reported missing on January 2, and her body has not yet been found. Brian Walshe was taken into custody Tuesday and is being held without bail. The investigation into Ana Walshe’s disappearance is ongoing.
