The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported an outage of a system used to notify pilots of important information on Wednesday morning, causing disruption to air travel all over the country. All flights by American Airlines from Paris have been delayed until further notice, according to Groupe ADP, an international airport operator based in the French capital.

FlightAware reported that 2,512 flights had been delayed leaving or entering the United States by 7:56 a.m. Wednesday morning. Air France said its flights from the U.S. were going ahead as planned and were not affected by the FAA notice.

Shortly after 7 a.m., the FAA ordered airlines to halt all domestic departures until 9 a.m. to “allow the agency to validate the integrity of flight and safety information.” The system provides urgent advisory information to flight personnel about things like airport conditions, runway closures and obstacles.

The White House has said that there is currently no evidence of a cyberattack, but the Department of Transportation is conducting a full investigation. It is unclear when the system will be restored and flights will resume.
