Dave & Buster’s co-founder James “Buster” Corley died on Monday, January 2nd. Corley was found dead at his home in Dallas, according to a representative from the city’s police department. His daughter, Kate Corley, said that Corley had a stroke four months ago that caused severe damage to the communication and personality part of his brain. The police representative said that the preliminary investigation determined that officers found a man with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Corley and his business partner David Corriveau initially had independent businesses, Corley a restaurant and Corriveau an adult-focused entertainment business. The duo partnered up a few years later and opened their first restaurant/arcade in 1982. Dave & Buster’s has since become a popular “eatertainment” chain, with over 100 locations across the United States and Canada.

A representative for Dave & Buster’s said in a statement to CBS News that Corley was remembered as “an innovative and creative force.” His family has asked for privacy during this time.

Corley’s legacy will live on through Dave & Buster’s, which has become a popular destination for people of all ages. The chain has become known for its combination of food, drinks, and arcade games, and is a popular spot for birthday parties, corporate events, and other celebrations. Corley’s daughter Kate said that her father was a “true visionary” and that his “legacy will live on through Dave & Buster’s.”
