Verdine White Pays Tribute to Late Brother Fred White, Drum Prodigy of Earth, Wind & Fire

The family of Fred White, former drummer of the band Earth, Wind & Fire, is mourning the loss of their beloved brother. Verdine White, the band’s founding bassist and Fred’s brother, announced his death on Monday in a social media post.

Verdine described his brother as a “wonderful bro” who was “always entertaining and delightfully mischievious.” He added, “He will live in our hearts forever, rest in power beloved Freddie!!”

Pitchfork described White as a “drum prodigy” and his brother Maurice White, who died in 2016, called him “a member of the EWF ORIGINAL 9.”

The family is mourning the loss of their beloved brother and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and fans. A cause of death was not immediately given.
